I have to start this post off with something pretty fun and exciting…last Thursday, Jamie scored his first goal in lacrosse!  I was lucky enough to be there to capture it on film (okay, digitally), which made it even better for me. 🙂  I put the progression of pictures up on Facebook, and then I even let Jamie caption them himself.  Here you go:

“Taking the face-off.”

“Upon interference on the face-off, he gets the ball.”

“A face-dodge past two defenders.”

“Loading up on the shot.”

The most awkward throw ever.

“Play hard, celly harder.”

Ha ha ha, he’s so funny. 😉  But he was SO happy to score.  Unfortunately, the team lost 15-2 ( 😮 ), but it was so nice for Jamie to finally get a goal.  He’s been working on his shot for months, and he’s hit the post at least 4 times this season, so he was due!

He had another big event on Sunday.  No, not worshiping me for Mother’s Day (Ha! Yeah, right!).  Sunday was actually the day of his Confirmation.  It was a wonderful day, and we had several family members on hand to help us celebrate, as well as his godfather, who was his Confirmation mentor.

I can’t believe how grown up he is in that last one!  We did a family picture, of course, and I realized when I was posting to Facebook that it was my second time having a religious family occasion on Mother’s Day; back in 2006, JJ’s baptism was also on Mother’s Day.  When I realized it was exactly ten years ago that we’d had that special event, at the same place, I of course had to pull up the picture and do a side by side comparison.

Look at how grown up my boys are!  But at the same time, I was shocked to see how different I look.  That wasn’t when I was at my heaviest, but I obviously had just had a baby and was pretty thick (though hiding it well, I think!).  But…my hair!! Seriously, I cannot even remember what life was like when my hair was that short. LOL!!

I’ll quickly recap my weigh-in Monday, but first, I have to let you know that my whole schedule was off Sunday and Monday because Jamie and I were leaving very (very!) early Monday morning for his 8th grade class trip. I ate very late (10pm!) on Sunday night while packing for our trip, and then I had to skip my Monday morning run because had to be at the school at 4:30am. Say what?!  I hate weighing in on Mondays when I don’t run, because I feel like I lose that advantage of having just burned all those calories. 😉 At any rate…

That’s up .6 from last week, but I think that’s not so bad, considering my altered schedule.  It’ll be more interesting to see what it is next week, after a two-day vacation! :p

That’s enough for this post.  The next one will be the promised recap of my current running experiences (more MAF training!), and then the one after that will be recapping an amazing trip to Mackinac…with a bunch of teenagers.  Oh boy! 😉

Thanks for reading!
