Post-Vacation Funk

Yes, indeed, I am definitely in a post-vacation funk.  Ask my scale.

A .8-pound gain might not be so bad if it weren’t for the fact that it follows a 3.6-pound post-vacation gain. Yikes! 😮  You might have thought that I would get right back on the wagon after vacation and effortlessly drop the weight, but no.  I’m back into running five days a week (yay for running!), but my eating was far from on-point last week.  We jumped right back into life, ie, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, work, school volunteering, laundry, making my own damn meals…God, I miss vacation. 😛  Okay, I had one meal I didn’t have to cook; Saturday night was the high school auction, so someone else cooked for me. And cooked well!

Filet mignon with asparagus and potatoes (so sorry the picture is awful–it tasted amazing!), a Caesar salad (not pictured) and some delicious desserts.  And drinks, including champagne, which was flowing pretty freely at the start of the night. 😮  (I had to drive, so I cut myself off pretty early.)

Coupled with free treats at work and then more free treats Sunday morning during auction cleanup…well, the .8 gain isn’t a shock by any means.  I’d love to say I’m back on track this week, but… *hides under chair*

I must get in control!!  I also must continue with life.  And things like baseball.

Forgive the completely gratuitous “my son got a base hit” shot. 😉 But I love him and his enthusiasm.

No excuses!  It starts right now.  How about you??  Are you with me??  Come join me on this miserable rewarding and fulfilling journey of healthy living!  No really, I know that it doesn’t have to be miserable.  I just need to remember the habits I’ve learned over the last 5 years and I’ll be okay.  I’m still tracking my food every day, even when I go over my points (although I did decide to stop using My Fitness Pal–the double-tracking with Weight Watchers was making me miserable).  I can do this!!!  And so can you!!

Thanks for reading!

PS:  A couple Hawaii trip reports are up and can be found here or by using the menu link above.

I am with you…I am a clean eating challenge. I was waiting until after my birthday which was yesterday so Monday watch out! I am grocery/meal planning now. Following a delicious and the most awesome birthday dinner, I am fed up of my tight clothes. I will be careful this weekend and drinking lots of water! Meal prep needs to be done too.
