08/08/15: It’s about time I updated the background, since spring is long gone and summer is almost gone, too! This picture was taken on August 7, 2015, in Brownstown, Michigan, where the Huron River meets the Detroit River and Lake Erie. A near-perfect summer sunrise!
The previous picture was taken of my blooming cherry tree. It’s actually from a couple of years ago (2013). It’s so pretty when it blooms in the spring!
The previous background picture was taken in January 2015. I laugh now, because my comment when I posted it was: “We finally got some snow in southeast Michigan so that I could update my background picture!” To think I was actually bemoaning the lack of snow back then. 😉 Anyway, that picture was taken on January 11, 2015 at sunset near Pointe Mouille State Game Area. This is an inlet off Lake Erie, which can be seen out in the distance. That water looks cold…probably only a little colder than the winds coming off the lake that froze my fingers while I was trying to take this shot. 😉
The previous background is one I took in October 2014. Fall in Michigan is amazing, and this is a special spot to me that I don’t tell many people about. 😉 I love how the road practically invites you to put aside your troubles for a while and go for a quiet, leisurely walk.
Another previous background was taken in July 2013, which I entered in my county fair in 2014. It took second place in the scenic category. 🙂
