Sometimes They Aren’t So fun

My friend Dani has a food blog, and besides being incredibly awesome, it is also incredible regular in its updating. In fact, she somehow manages, despite being the busy mom of two young girls, to update it twice a week. Wait, that’s so impressive, it’s worth extra formatting…twice a week. It shames me enough that I feel I should post on a somewhat regular basis. I would make a joke about my posts being both “regular” and “monthly,” like other things in my life, but that might offend the delicate sensibilities of any hockey dads who happen upon my blog.

Anyway, back to hockey photos…my older son’s team (Mite AA Travel) made it to the first round of the playoffs! (Okay, all the teams make it to the playoffs, but do we really need to focus on that?) The better news is, they actually swept the first round, winning all four games. They were all tough games, but our boys played great! By the time we got to the second round, when scrimmages were included, we’d won 8 games in a row. Unfortunately, that was kind of a downside, because, at some point we had to lose.

We played a team that we went 1-1 against in the regular season, and it was a very tough game. We lost 2-1, and it was quite a heartbreaker. It was hard to even take pictures, because it was alternately exciting and depressing, but I did get a few.

I especially like the the right wing in this shot…look at how intent he is on the play!

Despite the sadness of the game, I did get a few good shots. This arena happens to have some good lighting. The puck looks like it’s floating in mid air here!

Not a great shot…still trying to figure out how to “stop” the action.

I love the defensemen.  Mine is on the left, always at the ready.

This is #2, one of my favorite players, working hard to go after that puck!

It was definitely not one of my favorite games, but if nothing else, making this post helps satisfy my hockey craving in the midst of summer.
