Stuff Besides Hockey

Yes, I do sometimes take pictures of stuff besides my kids playing hockey!  I actually enjoy all aspects of photography, and I love it when I can find a lucky shot.  Below are some of the (non-hockey) shots I have taken in the past year of which I’m most proud.  Roll your mouse over the picture to see a description and/or explanation.

A shot I took after a March snowfall.
Pansies
This was taken on a “truck farm” that supplies the local farm market, and these pansies eventually were sold in flats for people to use in their landscaping!
Raspberries
These are my raspberry plants giving me fruit for the first time. I have worked for 10 years to try to cultivate raspberries in my yard!
Lightning Strikes
Only my second try at taking lightning pics–I love doing it (though my family worries about me!).
Bushel of Tomatoes
These are some of the 6 bushels of tomatoes we grew last year (which eventually became salsa and spaghetti sauce).
My Nephew
I love this picture of my nephew in our pool.
Robin
This guy let me get really close to him last spring…granted, this is at 300mm, but I was still darn close!
My Boys
This picture is my pride and joy…I love my boys, and I love that they wanted to come with me when I was taking sunset pictures to pretend to fish. 🙂
Wood Sprite
This is one of my friends’ daughters…we were at an apple orchard, and I just loved how she looked like a wood sprite here.
Mmmm..apple
Another daughter of a friend at the orchard…I just love the look of pure anticipation on her face here.
Snowy Dinner
This is one of my neighbor’s horses, and I am proud to say this shot won 2nd place at my county fair.
Winter Sunset
This picture holds a special place in my heart, because it was the first “Approver’s Choice” designation I received at Weather Underground (www.wunderground.com).
Bug Eyed
This guy did not want to leave the roof of my car.  I thought he was kind of cool, reflected in the glass of my sunroof.
DS #1
This was the third picture I took with my new camera last year, of my eldest son.
Pretty Kitty
This was the second picture I took with my new camera.
Snowy Scene
This remains my favorite picture of all the ones I’ve taken, even a year later.  I took this after a March snowfall, and this picture won me first place at my county fair.
DS #2
The first-ever picture I took when I got my new camera. I love this kid, even though he drives me nuts some days!
