An Interim Post

Okay, I’m sick of my blog being so desolate and lonely. Real life is really killing me right now, between two end-of-season hockey parties to plan, trophies to buy, video/slide shows to make for both parties (plus the hockey association banquet)…ugh! I have some neat pictures to showcase from a few good games, but they’ll have to wait another day. For now, I will include a few recent pictures of my boys…because I love them, and I love watching them play hockey. These are pretty much raw from the camera with the exception of my usual settings in Digital Photo Professional (increase brightness, contrast, and color saturation, decrease shadow, and greatly increase the sharpness). I could’ve done more, but I’m tired and I want to get to bed.

The next five pictures are of my oldest at a game in South Bend. The lighting was really cool…we were in the practice arena of a military academy’s hockey team (an hour south of where all the other tournament games were!), and it was pretty much a glorified barn! But the neat part is that there were TONS of windows and the natural light was awesome. Plus, I was lucky enough to shoot without being obstructed by glass because of how the rink was designed. They lost this championship game, but it was still lots of fun to take pictures. Plus, my son had the game of his life according to all three of his coaches!

This one makes me laugh because he was so intent on guarding his goal that he dove in front of the goalie to block a shot!

I love the way the light shines here, and I also love the puck caught in mid-air. 🙂

The next few pictures are of my youngest. He’s only 6, but you can really see his intensity and enthusiasm for the game. He approaches pretty much all of life this way! 🙂

He pretty much has a smile on his face for the entire 36 minutes of the game, and especially after he scores!
