Well, crap.

That’s one nice thing about having my own blog as opposed to the WW blog…I can use the word “crap” without being censored. :p  And “crap” is definitely how I would describe my feelings today.

On my first week of maintenance, I managed to gain 2.2 pounds! If anything is worth a “WTF?!”, that is.  I followed the maintenance program, using my extra 6 points per day each day except for day 1 (I used 3 of 6), but not dipping into WPs or APs.  I suppose I could blame it on the fact that I earned less activity points this week, but I started running last week, and I’m sorry–I just can’t run as far as I used to walk!

I was actually rather disappointed in how the eTools handled my weight gain.  Since this is only the second time I’ve gained weight in 22 weeks, I was ready for the motivational pep talk.  “Give me some ideas!  Encourage me! Tell me everything is going to be all right, Auntie Em!” Nope.  Nothing.  When I logged my weight, it just went to my little graph and let me sit there and stare at my 2.2 pound gain in suffering silence.

Bah.  Stupid eTools. :p Clearly the support stops when you hit your goal.  What’s up with that?!

Ah, well.  Back to the grind.  I’ve set my account to be in “weight loss” mode again so I can eliminate the extra 6 points.  I’m hopeful that this week will go better.  And to think I almost went to Olive Garden with the the family on Friday! I had it all planned out points wise so I could stay on program, but now I’m glad I was too tired from this head cold to make it happen.

In other news, I went for my fourth run today.  I started last week on Sunday with a 1.5 mile run, but I felt that was just too long, and the next two runs were 1.0 miles.  A little more palatable, but still a good start for a beginning runner, I think.  This morning, I could not bring myself to run.  I’m still trying to get over this head cold, not to mention it was in the low 40s.  But the real issue was the wind.  OMG it was windy today!  How windy you ask? Here’s a visual answer:

I hope my friend Amanda, the fellow weather fanatic, sees this. 😉

I really debated not doing it, but my friend Tonia badgered me into it.  I told her that if I ended up frozen in a ditch somewhere, it was all her fault.  Like a true friend, she promised to send out a search party if she didn’t hear from me within an hour. *snort* I’m happy to say I managed the run, but I cannot deny it was the hardest run I’ve done to date.  That wind was KILLER, and even though I ran east – west and winds were mostly coming from the north, it was crazy hard.  I felt like I was standing still a lot, and a couple times I nearly got blown off the road.  I’m serious! I do not exaggerate.  Oh, wait, yes I do. :p  But not this time, I promise.

I will say I actually felt pretty good about half an hour after I was done.  There’s something to be said for that feeling of accomplishment after a run. 🙂 Of course, there’s something to be said about the pain I feel the next day in my legs, but that’s a whole different something. :p

Okay, that’s enough for tonight.  I have–what else!–a hockey game to get to!  I hope to have another hockey picture post soon!

Thanks for reading!

Sending you some supportive hugs, sweetie. Remember this is a journey. There are some weeks that you just can’t explain. Weeks I am disappointed that I didn’t lose more and weeks that I am shocked I lost. Congrats on the running, I am seriously impressed.

Thank you, Jenn! I really appreciate the support. {{hugs}} PS: Don’t be too impressed, I’m not a very stylish runner. 😉
