Jay’s Sesame Beef

Time for a main dish recipe, because I’ve had a little too much dessert lately. 😉

We’re a chicken-loving family, simply because it’s good for the diet.  I do love my beef though, and this recipe, made with lean beef, satisfies that need.  Jay (my husband) is the originator of this one.  I have no idea where he got it, but it’s one of his best, a nice, simple stand-by.  It’s very flavorful, but still low in points.

It’s 7 points as listed in the ingredients below, and then I serve it sometimes with white rice, or sometimes with brown (shown here), but the truth is, brown rice isn’t any lower in points than white. 😛  I like both, so the points-saving (or lack thereof) makes no difference to me.   The bottom line is that it’s yummy and simple.  Of course, it’s really simple for me, because my husband is always the one cooking it. 😉

Jay’s Sesame Beef

Ingredients

16 oz Boneless Sirloin Steak
1/2 c Teriyaki Marinade
3 Scallion(s)
2 cloves Garlic Cloves
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
4 cups rice (NOT included in points value!)

Directions

Cut beef diagonally across the grain into 1/8 inch slices. Mix teriyaki marinade, onions, and garlic in medium bowl. Stir in beef until well coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Remove beef from marinade and reserve marinade. Heat oil in skillet over medium high heat. Cook beef mixture in oil, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown. Stir in marinade. Heat to boiling, boil and stir one minute.

Serve beef over rice with sesame seeds.

PointsPlus: 7 points when portioned into 4 servings, not including any rice or other side you add.

You do know I am making a list of all the things you are going to make me when I come and visit right? Sounds like your husband is an awesome chef and an all around good guy. You are both lucky to have each other. Hugs and love!
