I’m trying to keep up with my blog a LITTLE better, so here’s a quick post to do just that!

After last week’s race, I feel a bit bereft as far as running goes. I don’t have any races planned currently. 🙁 Jamie and I have talked about doing the Chocolate Run, but since he has a hockey game (in Bowling Green?!) around noon that day, I’m concerned that timing might be tight. He’s pretty insistent that he wants to do it, though…he had such a good experience at his last race, he’s enthused to do it again. We’ll see. I actually WOULD like to do it, just so I can get some chocolate this year, unlike last year. :p He just wants the hat. 🙂

I ran seven miles on Saturday, pretty much just because. When I woke up, it was pretty cold for October.

However, after training for a marathon  last winter (worst winter in Detroit history), I think it’s all relative. 😉  Still, that white stuff on the grass gave me pause.

I’ll take frost over snow any day, though!

I went to the Metropark, which I haven’t done in a while, and the views were gorgeous.

I ran at a very comfortable pace, stopping for plenty of pictures. It was nice, although I was short on time, as usual. :p Two hockey games in 4 hours! My overall pace wasn’t great, but I wasn’t shooting for any records, either.

I ran 3 miles Monday morning, and even though I’m not technically training for anything, I still keep Mondays as a speed day.  I was shooting for a sub 9:40 overall pace, and I was surprised that it was harder than I expected. It was a bit windy, but I had a tailwind coming back, so I did manage negative splits.

That’s a 9:32 overall pace, though it doesn’t actually say so. :/ Not sure I like the new Garmin interface. 😛  The pace wasn’t too bad, although it’s kind of discouraging that I once ran 13 miles at a 9:52. :/

I didn’t mention last week when I posted my race recap, but I DID weigh myself, even after all the chicken, pie and pancake love. 😉 I debated just skipping it for one week, knowing it wasn’t likely to be pretty, but I wanted to keep myself honest. So I did, and…

Ha! I lost 1.4 pounds! That means chicken dinners every week, right? 😉  I was surprised, but pleased.

I tracked all this past week, and exercised, of course. Still, when I weighed myself this morning, I was half-expecting the worst, but…

Look at that…another .4 down! Still above my new interim goal of sub-120, and ten pounds above my weight in January, but it’s better than a gain!

I mentioned in my last report that I had bought new pants for my birthday.  I wore a pair with my new maroon shirt this week. It felt SO good to wear pants that fit comfortably…not too tight, not too loose. It’s amazing how much that can improve your outlook! So, regardless of what the scale says, I’m feeling pretty good these days. 🙂

    Sorry I have been MIA for a bit. I am catching up now. Congrats on “feeling good” That is so important. And don’t forget how awesome I think you are! Like my opinion is the only one that matters!
