Weekly Weigh In and Update

Well, I’m still working diligently on my little “project”, so this will be a short post. I promise!  But my gosh, you guys, wait until you see it. I think I have taken my sports photography prowess up a notch with this one. 🙂

At any rate, I needed to do a weigh-in for the week. You might remember that last week, I was at exactly 122.0, which was a loss of  .2, and, coincidently the same amount I lost the week prior. And this week…

Ha ha ha! Seriously, nothing like taking the (extremely) slow and steady route.  But, last week was Thanksgiving weekend, and I had plenty of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and pie. Oh, yes, especially pie.

But I did run 9 miles on Thanksgiving morning to help me offset all the planned eating a little bit. I actually ran my own version of a “drumstick double.” I ran 6.2 miles by myself, and then I ran 3.1 with Jamie. It was extremely windy on Thanksgiving, and when I got home from the first run, I informed Jamie that there was no way we were going to go faster than an 11-minute pace, because the wind was just too strong. However, that little stinker doesn’t like to listen to me, and he went out quite fast. I didn’t think he’d be able to sustain it, but when it was all over, he was Way ahead of me, with a 10:15 overall pace!

I came in at a respectable 10:45, but that kid really enjoys leaving me in the dust.  He seems to forget the days when he was first starting to run, and I would take it slow and easy to stay with HIM. :p

We had a great weekend overall, with no hockey for the first Thanksgiving in three years!! I got my trees up and enjoyed a little bit of relaxation while I worked on pictures.  I will show them off next week!

In other news, I’m waiting rather impatiently for the new Weight Watchers program to come out. I’ve actually read some information about it already, since parts of it have already leaked. I discovered this blog, which I’m really enjoying.  She has had some great information!

I’m happy to see that Weight Watchers looks to be taking into account some of the nutrients that I’ve come to determine are important in weight loss with my use of My Fitness Pal and calorie counting. The rumor is that the “new” points program is going to take into account calories and sugar content, and items with more sugar are going to be “penalized” as far as having higher points. I’ve been doing a little double tracking using the old program this week, just because I was curious about the new site and all the problems people have been having. Like many users, I have also had many errors crop up, which makes me grateful that I’m not relying solely on the Weight Watchers eTools app for my tracking right now. I did notice, though, that several of the items that I tend to eat regularly, and therefore I have the points memorized, have increased in points. My standard 3 ounce glass of white wine being one of them. :/

At any rate, we’ll see how accurate it all turns out to be when they launch the new program, which officially comes out tomorrow (Sunday).  I suspect I’ll see it in my eTools on Monday, which is my normal weight-tracking day. I’m probably going to double-track for a little while to see how the new program compares to the calorie-counting I’ve been doing.  I think I might even go to a meeting next week so that I can hear more about it in person.

OK, that’s enough for this week. I will see you all soon! Thanks so much for reading!

Thanks for mentioning my blog. I’m looking forward to the new program too. I am going to a Sunday meeting to hear about it although my normal weigh in day is Saturday. I’ve been able to use the new program this past week by moving my computer date forward to my weigh in date next Saturday. So far so good…

Slow and steady is the best way to go! It’s a great accomplishment when there is any weight loss when there’s a holiday involved. Have a great week!
