Runs for Cookies Virtual 5k – Done!

Just a quick post this morning to say that I finished the Runs for Cookies Virtual 5k! 😀

I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do it, since we have a hockey game tonight and then a party, so there is now way I can run 5k tonight.  So I did it this morning, and I managed to finish by 6am!

I really wanted to “officially” do this race.  As most of Katie’s readers probably already know, I helped Katie by creating the official “race bib” and t-shirt logo (from her husband’s fabulous hand drawing!).  I want to have an official race t-shirt so badly, because it’s such a cute design and I had so much fun creating it for Katie, but even though I made it and have all the artwork, lol, I didn’t want to create a t-shirt with it unless I’d really earned it.  So, I ran 5k on the treadmill this morning!

It feels really good, too.  As I was running, I was thinking about how, at this time last year, I was contemplating just walking a 5k, and whether or not I could do it.  I would have never dreamed back then that I could not only run a 5k, but finish it before 6am and still go to work afterwards, lol! 😉

Awesome! I finished mine too 🙂 Except mine was 58:47 :0) Only a tad bit slower. Haha!

Question. How do you get your splits to show up as a picture? I can’t figure out how to get it from garmin connect to my website?

You finished, Dena–that’s what counts! I do a “printscreen” using Control-C on my PC and then paste it into Photoshop and crop it from there. I don’t know if you can do a “save-as image” on the picture. I never tried! Hope you can figure it out!

Interesting…I never knew you could save the screen on a PC. haha..I’m pretty computer illiterate. I guess I will have to play around with it 🙂 Thanks!

Weird. I don’t think I got it to work. I suppose the next best thing would just be to copy and paste it into a table of some sort and just save it as a jpeg. That would work too right?

Maybe during the week of the Jix Anniversary?

Those who participate in the annual Run / Walk thread might be interested. We could extend it to include biking, swimming, skating, horseback riding…the BWGs were an active bunch. Why should they have all the fun?

I thought about that week, but I wonder if it’s too soon to give people time to work towards a goal of a 5k? (Not to mention, it’s March and still cold, lol!) I will email you…I really do think it’s a GREAT idea!!
